Hi - name is Abbi Sloot! I’m originally from Minnesota (and will tell you all about it), so I’ve spent a lot of time exploring the North Shore, hiking, and fishing. I’ve been wanting to get into rock climbing, so if you have any advice let me know :) I can’t wait to explore all of the cool places in New England with BUOC! Come on my trips or be lame 😎

Ellie is an avid hiker, a slow skier, a map collector, a periglacial plant enthusiast, and a backcountry chess champion. She once fell off a cliff in Nepal and found 9 leeches on her back.

Favorite Outdoor Activity: Mountaineering

I was born in San Diego and lived my whole life on a farm working outside and with animals. I am currently studying to become a neurosurgeon one way so I love going outdoors to de-stress and escape from my studies every once and while. Nature and the outdoors has always been an important part of my life and I'm glad that I'm able to continue exploring it during my time at BU.

I grew up in the Boston Area and spent my early days hiking in the Blue Hills (fun fact! I’m named after them). Now, I adore any opportunity to get outside. I am a Trip Leader for BUOC and the resident unicycle rider.

I'm a big ole fan of peanut butter and keeping my toes warm. If I don't get outside enough I start to lose all sense of reality, and BUOC has been a great way of preventing that from happening. Looking forward to going on more trips with everyone!

Hi, I'm Reid. I'm from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, right outside of Milwaukee. My family's love for road trips has always kept me connected to the outdoors, and I particularly enjoy visiting national parks. Being relatively new to the New England area, I never miss an opportunity to explore Boston and the region as a whole. I'm excited to see where this club will take me next. See you out there!

Favorite Outdoor Activity: Backpacking

I grew up going camping in the BWCA and backpacking in Wyoming and Montana. Some of my favorite places I’ve been are the Willmore in Alberta Canada and the Grand Canyon. During the summer I lead trips for high schoolers!

Sophia is majoring in English with a minor in cello performance. Her favorite activities include playing/listening to music, reading, going on walks, skiing, weightlifting, and cooking. She joined BUOC in Fall 2021 and is having so much fun being a trip leader!

Hi I'm Spencer and I am a 5'9" Asian Male from Long Island, NY with short black hair. I enjoy going/leading outdoor activities that challenge me, give me spectacular views, and most importantly have a great time meeting other outdoor enthusiasts!
