Franconia Ridge Loop [10/2-10/3]

What: We are going to hike the Franconia Ridge Loop in Lincoln, NH. We will drive up to Lafayette campsite Friday night. We will wake up early on Saturday to hike the entire Franconia Ridge Loop, which includes Mount Lafayette, Mount Lincoln, and Little Haystack Mountain. We will be back on campus by Saturday night!

Where/When: We will meet in the parking lot behind Marsh Plaza at 6pm on Friday (10/2), aiming to get to the campsite in time to set up camp and make dinner before it gets dark. We will get back by 7pm on Saturday (10/3).

Difficulty: Difficult. This is a 9-mile hike with 5,000ft of elevation gain. Previous hiking experience is required.

Price: $25 for members, $35 for non- members, free for drivers!

Packing List (* means we can provide it):

  • Day pack
  • Sleeping bag *
  • Sleeping pad *
  • 2-3 liters of water *
  • Tupperware/ bowl with a spoon
  • Hiking boots (above the ankle)
  • Headlamp or flashlight with batteries *
  • Warm clothing
  • Hiking shorts and/or pants
  • Fleece/sweatshirt/jacket
  • Rain jacket
  • A hat
  • Wool socks
  • BUOC and SAO waivers
  • Other things: sunscreen, bug spray, cameras, journals, etc‚Ķ
  • A great attitude!! 🙂
